Job Description

Early Shift 0600 - 1400hrs - Must be available to work Monday - Saturday or Sunday to Friday ( Sunday pay rate £30.66 per hour)

As a Parcel Hub Shift Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of your assigned shift. Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring all shift activities comply with safety requirements and continuous improvement principles
Managing shift budgets and performance across people, customer, operational, and financial scorecard areas
Developing and executing shift workplans, ensuring optimum resourcing against forecasted workloads
Maximising automation throughput and managing efficient induction, outfeeds, and cross-dock operations
Collaborating with Shift Flow and Engineering Managers to minimise downtime and drive performance
Conducting regular team performance reviews and ensuring real-time performance visibility
Working with Trade Union representatives to build strong partnerships and create a positive work culture
Leading shift-based change projects using structured project and risk management methods
Acting as the Designated Person in Control (PIC), when required

✅ What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Proven experience managing large-scale operations, ideally in an automated environment
Strong planning and project management capabilities
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and drive performance improvements
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
Confidence in leading change and deploying Continuous Improvement methods
Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative leadership style
Experience in second-line management with strong team leadership capabilities
Solid IT skills and budget management experience
PIC training (or willingness to undertake it)
Ability to work with and interpret complex system data

Manual handling training and full Health & Safety induction provided
PPE will be supplied as required
Workers must wear closed, sturdy footwear
