Teaching Assistant – Post 16

Are you a Teaching Assistant who wants to have an impact on the outcomes for Post 16 SEMH students? If so, we need to talk.
This fantastic Post 16 education setting is looking for 3 Teaching Assistants to join their team in September on a long-term basis to support SEMH students. As a Teaching Assistant you will be working on a 1-2-1 basis with young adults with barriers to learning and social emotional challenges that need support.

You will be joining a fabulous team who are totally committed to preparing students through education for the world of work or further study.

Job role: -
  • Supporting Post 16 learners on a 1-2-1 basis enabling engagement in learning.
    • Building trusting relationships with students who find it difficult to engage in education.
    • Monitor, manage and support anxiety, finding ways to create emotional regulation.
    • Encourage active communication and build confidence.
    • Develop strategies to increase learning outcomes.
    • Manage interventions and regulate behaviour through understanding and support.
 Requirements:
  • An experienced Teaching or Learning Support Assistant with SEMH experience.
    • Used to working with students with barriers to learning.
    • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain for the role.
    • Understanding of SEMH and SEND gained in a relevant setting.
    • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature to support these students.
