The Role
A secondary school in Shropshire is seeking an experienced and motivated English Teacher to join their department from January 2026 on a long-term basis. The role involves delivering engaging and effective English lessons across the secondary age range, supporting students to make strong academic progress.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing lessons in line with the national curriculum, working closely with a supportive English department and wider school team. This position offers stability and the opportunity to make a real impact over the course of the assignment.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (ECTs are welcome to apply)
  • Have experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be confident delivering both Language and Literature content
  • Show commitment, professionalism, and a pupil-focused approach
