The Role
A secondary school in Walsall is seeking a committed and engaging English Teacher to join their department from January 2026 on a long-term basis. The role involves teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality lessons that support progress in reading, writing, and critical analysis.
You will be expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and contribute positively to the wider English department. This is a strong opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to secure a stable long-term placement.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (or be an ECT working towards completion)
  • Have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Be confident with planning, marking, and assessment
  • Be enthusiastic, organised, and committed to pupil progress
