Personal Advisor, Looked After Children and Leaving Care Service
Pay rate £27.69 per hour 
Contract role
 We are recruiting for experienced Personal Advisor to work in a Looked After Children and Leaving Care Team in Westminster. 
NEEDS TO HAVE LEAVING CARE EXPERIENCE.
General Duties:
  • To support care leavers, make a successful transition to adulthood.
  • To contribute to the assessments, formulation, implementation and review of Pathway Plans through direct interventions and full engagement of the young person.
  • To provide assistance and advice to Care Leavers in relation to developing practical independent living skills, holding a tenancy and developing financial capabilities.
  • Provide coaching and motivational support to enable young people to build the confidence and self-esteem to be successful in adulthood. Safeguard and protect
  • Care leavers as they transition to independence through regular contact and ensuring that they are effectively engaged; in suitable accommodation; and in education training or employment appropriate to their abilities and aspirations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across agencies with the view to co-ordinating the provision of relevant services and taking reasonable steps to ensure the young person makes use of them.
  • To take on duty tasks and be on the duty rota at least three times monthly.
Working patterns: Flexible/agile working is promoted however it is the expectation that in person attendance in the office is completed at least three times weekly. Attendance at Team meetings must be in person.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Children’s First Partnership Hub (CFPH), including Early Help and MASH functions.
  • Manage triage and screening of referrals, ensuring timely and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Ensure statutory safeguarding duties are met in line with the Safeguarding Children’s Partnership threshold document.
  • Lead multi-agency decision-making processes and ensure correct thresholds are applied.
  • Supervise and support staff including Social Workers, CAROs, and Business Support Officers.
  • Maintain high standards of information sharing and collaborative working with partner agencies.
  • Champion strength-based and relationship-focused practice across the team.
  • Provide management oversight of contact records and referrals, ensuring child-focused and safe decisions.
  • Support quality assurance through audits and learning reviews.
