***Guiding under-achieving students aged 11-16 through the maths GCSE syllabus.
 
Requirements:

• PGCE with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or pending completion.
• At least a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, or a related field.
• A passion for maths, with the ability and confidence to share your knowledge with under-achieving students.
• The ability to plan and deliver GCSE maths lessons in a way that will be exciting and engaging for students.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• A dedication to the success of students, and to their academic improvement.

 
The Role
As you undertake your induction as a Maths ECT, you will be responsible for the motivation and engagement of KS3 and KS4 students. To achieve this, you will formulate innovative lesson plans and create learning materials that are suited to each individual student’s unique needs. You will also use your brilliant interpersonal skills to form strong bonds with both students and staff to create and nurture a positive learning environment. The progress of under-achieving students in your classroom will be monitored and tracked in order to devise strategies of improvement to raise the attainment of both students and the school.
