The Graduate
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have a passion for supporting children with physical disabilities and additional learning needs. You will have confidence in your ability to adapt yourself to suit the individuals needs of each student to ensure that all pupils are assisted in fulfilling their maximum potential. Strong communication skills will be a vital quality of yours to guarantee success in this Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role, as you build secure relationships with both students and staff. Previous experience in a school setting would be beneficial to the successful candidate but is not essential.
 
The Role
In your time as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to SEN children aged 11-16 across all areas of the curriculum. You will be assisting students in lessons to ensure that they are progressing throughout their academic journey and reaching their individual targets. You will also be aiding teaching staff with the creation of learning materials and will use your own knowledge and assessments of pupils’ progress to adapt these to fit their unique needs.
