Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:00, Friday 08:00 - 15:30)
Salary: Competitive PAYE: £14.36 per hour | Umbrella: £18.62 per hour 

Are you a skilled HGV Technician with a passion for keeping vehicles in top shape? NRW People is excited to offer an incredible temporary Workshop Technician role with Carmarthenshire County Council, based at Trostre Depot. Starting 20 October 2025, this 13-week position covers a vacancy where recruitment has been challenging, offering a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise with a supportive team.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on Council fleet vehicles, including hydraulics and electrical equipment for specialised vehicle bodies.
• Ensure all work meets high safety and quality standards, keeping our fleet road-ready and reliable.
• Collaborate with the workshop team to address vehicle issues efficiently, contributing to smooth council operations.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold best practices in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified professional with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in light or heavy motor vehicle engineering.
• A valid Category B driving licence (minimum), with HGV experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude, with the ability to work Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00 Mon-Thurs, 08:00 - 15:30 Fri).
• Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Trostre Depot, Carmarthenshire.
