Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking an
Administrative Assistant (Grade 6) to join the
RCT Music Service on a temporary basis to support a period of growth and increased service demand. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a valued local authority service that delivers high-quality music education across the borough.
About RCT Music ServiceRCT Music Service provides one-to-one and group music education to primary, secondary, and special schools throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf. The service also delivers a wide range of extracurricular concerts and events, offering memorable performance opportunities for children and young people.
What You’ll Do:• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the RCT Music Service team.
• Process payments and manage basic financial and administrative records.
• Respond to routine queries from parents, tutors, and schools in a professional manner.
• Support music tutors with daily administrative requirements.
• Assist with the organisation and coordination of lessons, concerts, and music events.
• Work collaboratively within a small team of administrative assistants to ensure smooth service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:• Proven administrative experience with the ability to manage routine office tasks efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with parents and colleagues.
• Competency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for music is desirable.
• Flexibility to meet the demands of a growing service.
