Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for one of our key public sector clients. A reputable housing provider based in West London, is seeking a conscientious and proactive Sales Support Officer to join their Environment team.
Location: West London
Rate: £19.98 per hour (PAYE)
Working Pattern: Full-time | 36 hours per week (9:00am – 5:00pm)
Flexibility: Office-based (with potential transition to hybrid working)
About the Role
This role is key to supporting an entrepreneurial commercial waste service, ensuring smooth administrative operations while helping to maximise contract sales, retain customers, and grow market share. You will play a vital role in delivering a “right first time” service, contributing to excellent customer satisfaction.
You will act as a central point of contact, working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and customers to ensure efficient service delivery and prompt issue resolution.

You will act as a central point of contact, working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and customers to ensure efficient service delivery and prompt issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality administrative support, including handling calls, emails, post, and other communication channels
- Support customers and internal teams with service-related queries and financial information
- Maintain accurate records and process documentation using various internal systems and databases
- Input, update, and manage data across digital and manual filing systems
- Liaise with contractors regarding new, amended, or cancelled services, ensuring accurate communication
- Monitor completed work and resolve service issues, complaints, and queries proactively
- Investigate missed collections and contractor reports, ensuring timely resolution
- Issue and maintain Waste Transfer Notices, ensuring compliance with the Environmental Protection Act 1990
- Update and maintain sales trackers and performance reports
- Provide payment support, including taking card payments and setting up Direct Debits
- Conduct basic debt recovery tasks, including account checks, communications, and record-keeping
- Stay up to date with relevant policies, procedures, and best practices
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role
- Strong customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good understanding of GDPR and data handling practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and database systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
