Systems Engineer – Defence Platform Integration

A leading defence engineering team is expanding to support the evolution and international delivery of a ground-based air defence system, already operational with the British Army and now being scaled for allied export programmes.
This role is ideal for a systems engineer who enjoys variety—combining hands-on experimentation in the lab with broader studies around hardware evolution, manufacturing integration, and international tech transfer.
 
In the role:

• Supporting current and future equipment builds through systems level analysis and practical testing.
• Developing “Setting to Work” procedures that enable successful commissioning and integration in the field.
• Working across functions design, manufacturing, and field teams to simplify, automate, and enhance engineering processes.
• Playing a key role in export delivery, including tech transfer and adapting hardware/software for new users.
• Investigating opportunities to refresh and improve the hardware solution through studies and trials.

 
To secure the role:

• You’ll be a versatile Systems Engineer, able to operate across disciplines and enjoy rolling up your sleeves when needed. You'll help shape the evolution of next-gen military systems.
• Ideal experience includes:
• Transition to manufacture or design-for-manufacture
• Hardware/software integration
• Engineering change control or configuration management
• Software deployment in embedded or operational environments
• An analytical mindset paired with a willingness to explore and experiment
