Help shape the next generation of SOC engineering.
An opportunity for a talented Senior SOC Engineer to join a leading organisation operating across the Aerospace, Defence & Security sectors. You’ll drive automation, improve engineering standards and introduce AI-assisted practices across its SOC.
Working across automation, DevOps, data, reporting and cloud technologies, you’ll deliver practical improvements to the SOC from automating repetitive workflows and improving deployment reliability to turning complex data into useful operational insights.

Day to Day:
  • Designing and building automation, scripts and reusable engineering workflows.
    • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps and Git.
    • Introducing AI-assisted engineering practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
    • Building dashboards and operational reporting using Power BI and other tools.
    • Using Azure services to deliver reliable, scalable engineering solutions.
    • Improving data quality, integrations and transformation processes.
    • Helping define engineering standards, governance and best practice.
    • Working with security and operational teams to identify and deliver improvements.

For this SOC Automation Engineer role:
A strong background in automation, DevOps or technical engineering, with the ability to turn operational requirements into reliable, repeatable solutions. This should be complemented with a solid understanding of SOC operations and environments.

Your experience should include:
  • Scripting or development using PowerShell, Python or similar languages.
    • Azure DevOps, including repositories, pipelines and release processes.
    • CI/CD, Git and software engineering best practices.
    • Building automation workflows and integrating systems through APIs.
    • Dashboards and reporting using Power BI, Excel or similar tools.
    • Working with structured data and Microsoft Azure services.

Experience that will help you stand out
SOC or security engineering experience, alongside exposure to Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, SQL, Logic Apps, Power Automate or Azure Automation. Power BI data modelling, DAX, Power Query and Terraform would also be useful.

You could already be working in cyber security or bring strong automation and DevOps experience from another engineering environment.

This is a unique chance to shape the tools, standards and workflows behind a modern SOC, working alongside experienced cyber professionals in a national security-focused environment. Your work will improve how the team operates and directly defends country critical technology.
