The Company
We are delighted be partnering on an exclusive basis with a growing SME business based in Coventry. This company has transitioned into mostly an online eCommerce driven business model. This organisation is viewed  as a business of choice and has an outstanding reputation in its niche. They are now looking to hire an
 Financial Controller to lead a small team
 
Duties
Reporting to the Finance Director the role will be responsible for end to end effective month end close, the production of management reporting and ensuring new financial processes are effectively implemented  into the company. Duties include:
  • Oversee the production of month end close
  • Produce Management Accounts Pack including useful commentary and insight
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and controls
  • Close scrutiny on reconciliations and stock movements due to the high volume of transactions
  • Ensure correct accounting procedures are applied by the finance team
  • Work closely with and business partner key stakeholders 
  • Manage and mentor a small finance team
  • Support the Finance Director with daily/weekly Foreign Exchange as required
  • Undertaking special projects to introduce new innovative processes that lead to greater efficiency across the business
 
Person Specification
  • ACMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Solid management and technical accounting skills
  • Strong Excel user
  • Track record of managing teams
  • Exposure to retail, FMCG or a heavily eCommerce driven environment would be useful. More important is the ability to do the core Financial Controller role. Sector experience is secondary
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Navision
