Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker ready to make a lasting impact in safeguarding children and families? We’re looking for a Senior Qualified Social Worker to join a dynamic and dedicated Safeguarding Team in the West Midlands. In this vital role, you’ll assess, intervene, and advocate for children at risk — working closely with families and key partners such as the police, health professionals, and local communities to ensure the safety, stability, and well-being of every child. 🔍 The Role:
As part of the Safeguarding Team, you will:
- Complete robust risk assessments and identify protection needs for children and families.
- Manage a varied and complex caseload, often involving Child Protection, CIN, and Court work.
- Lead safeguarding investigations, develop care plans, and drive timely interventions.
- Work in partnership with agencies to deliver coordinated, child-focused outcomes.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced staff and social work students.
- Champion best practice and ensure children’s voices are central to your work.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A Social Work degree (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England
- 4+ years of post-qualifying experience in children’s safeguarding and statutory work
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with families and professionals
- A creative, reflective and resilient mindset – always striving for the best outcomes
- Confidence in multi-agency working and complex decision-making
- Excellent communication, mediation and negotiation skills
