Qualified Social Worker – Safeguarding and Care Planning
📍 Location: North East
💷 Pay Rate: £29 per hour 

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join the Safeguarding and Care Planning Team within a local authority in the North East. This busy and supportive team works closely with service users and families, intervening early to provide timely support and improve outcomes. In this role, you will work in accordance with social care legislation and local government standards, delivering person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Drawing on your professional expertise, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, make informed decisions about interventions, and build strong, collaborative relationships with service users and partner agencies. Your casework will include Child Protection, Public Law Outline, and Court proceedings. Your commitment to best practice will drive positive, sustainable outcomes for children and families, ensuring vulnerable individuals receive the protection and support they need to thrive.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Strong knowledge of Child Protection legislation and related issues
  • Creative, flexible, and proactive approach to social work
  • Excellent mediation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Skilled in building meaningful relationships to engage children and families in assessments and care planning
  • Committed to continuous professional development and delivering high-quality services
  • Experience working effectively within multi-disciplinary, interagency teams
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs
  • Manage an agreed caseload efficiently and effectively
  • Develop individualised care plans that respect diversity and promote dignity and empowerment
  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users
  • Provide advice and guidance to unqualified staff and students, supporting their development
