Senior Practice Lead - Child in Need£40.00 per hourCheshire37 hours p/w, hybrid
About the role:
We are recruiting an interim Senior Practice Lead to join our Child in Need team in Cheshire
We are looking for candidates with at least 5 years post qualified and have significant experience in duty/assessment & Child in Need or Child Protection, Pre-Proceedings and Care Proceedings. The candidate will need proven performance in quality case work in line with the autorities expectations, and an ability to work openly and honestly with their children, families, and partner agencies.
You will provide professional expertise and support to children’s social workers and other professionals working with children in need and in care. Ensure that interventions are evidenced based and of high-quality drawing on national best practice and research. Promote the use of evidence in casework through for example Research in Practice, and C4EO. With the Team Manager identify individual learning needs and provide support to practitioners in managing professional development. Provide supervision to family support workers and where agreed social work staff within the team. Mentoring of newly qualified and inexperienced staff including social workers. Manage a small ‘complex’ caseload as agreed by the Team Manager.
We offer excellent supervision and manageable caseloads, working alongside stable teams of experienced social workers and permanent established Team Managers.

What you need:- A degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Registered with Social Work England
- At least 3 years PQE permanent, direct employment within English LA
- 5 years post qualified experience
- Significant experience in duty/assessment & Child in Need or Child Protection, Pre-Proceedings and Care Proceedings
- Enhanced DBS check
- Excellent communication and written skills
