Are you a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker with a passion for supporting children, families, and foster carers? We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Fostering Team in the East Riding of Yorkshire, where you’ll play a vital role in supervising and supporting foster carers to provide safe, nurturing homes for children in care.
🧩 About the Role
You will be part of a fast-paced, supportive fostering team, delivering high-quality supervision and support to approved foster carers. Your core duties will include:
- Conducting regular supervision visits in line with fostering regulations.
- Completing annual reviews of foster carers’ ongoing suitability and identifying training and support needs.
- Developing and monitoring action plans tailored to each carer’s development.
- Supporting foster placements to ensure stability and positive outcomes for children.
- Carrying out Children in Need reviews and DoLS-related assessments for children in care, where required.
🌟 What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a committed professional who brings:
- A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- 4+ years’ post-qualifying experience, ideally within fostering or children and families services.
- Strong working knowledge of the Care Planning, Fostering Regulations, and relevant social care legislation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working in a multi-agency setting.
- A passion for promoting the best outcomes for children and young people.

- Manage a caseload of approved foster carers.
- Provide regular supervision and support.
- Complete reviews, risk assessments, and carer development plans.
- Promote carer retention and placement stability.
- Collaborate with children’s social workers, education, and health professionals.
