Adult Social Worker - Learning Disabilities & Autism Team

About the role:

We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker for a Learning Disabilities & Autism Team in Shropshire. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will manage a caseload of adults, delivering strengths-based assessments, support planning, safeguarding interventions, and reviews to promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. Emphasis will be on Care Act reviews. 

Key Responsibilities;
  • Manage a professional caseload, completing assessments, support plans, reviews, and risk assessments.
    • Apply strengths-based and asset-based approaches to support individuals and families.
    • Promote safeguarding and undertake investigations where required.
    • Work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and community partners to achieve agreed outcomes.
    • Attend and contribute to peer reviews, reflective practice sessions, and team discussions.
    • Maintain accurate case records, reports, and documentation.
    • Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and support less experienced staff and students.
    • Undertake duty responsibilities as part of the team rota. 
    • Promote equality, dignity, choice, and person-centred practice.

What you need:
  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent
    • Registered with Social Work England
    • At least 2 years PQE direct employment within English Local Authorities
    • Completed relevant post-qualifying training
    • Enhanced DBS check
    • Excellent communication and written skills
