Job Title: Temporary Accommodation Placements Officer
Location: North London (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £26 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 months ongoing
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accommodation Placements Officer to join a busy Housing team in North London on an interim basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting residents into suitable temporary accommodation, ensuring the council meets its statutory duties while delivering a compassionate and resident-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Source and book temporary accommodation placements on a daily basis
- Assess housing needs and place homeless households into suitable accommodation
- Manage the full placements process, including sign-ups and tenancy endings
- Provide housing advice and support to residents, including handling complex and sensitive cases
- Conduct difficult conversations, including refusals and duty discharges
- Work closely with internal teams to deliver effective housing solutions
- Arrange logistics such as transport, removals, and storage where required
- Maintain accurate records on housing systems and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Support emergency decants and transfers
- Experience working in housing, homelessness, or temporary accommodation
- Good understanding of housing legislation and statutory duties
- Strong customer service skills, with experience supporting vulnerable residents
- Confident handling challenging conversations and complex cases
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and services
- Comfortable using housing systems and maintaining accurate records
