Role Title: Licensing Compliance Officer
Location: West London (1 day per week in office / hybrid)
Rate: £31.20 per hour (umbrella)
Contract: 3 to 6 months with the opportunity to extend
About the Role We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated
Licensing Compliance Officer to join the Council’s Licensing and Public Protection team. You will play a key role in administering the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, and other licensing functions, ensuring high standards of service delivery and legal compliance across the borough.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and enforce duties under the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, and associated legislation.
- Provide efficient, effective, and reliable support services to maintain professional and legal standards.
- Protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents, businesses, visitors, and employees within Hammersmith & Fulham.
- Work collaboratively with businesses, providing guidance to help them meet their statutory responsibilities.
- Support core Public Protection teams and services, including:
- Environmental Public Protection
- Food Safety & Infectious Diseases
- Health & Safety, Animal Health, and Special Treatments
- Licensing & Markets
- Pest Control
- Private Sector Housing & Trading Standards
- Contribute to the Council’s statutory obligations, supporting high-quality service delivery in P1 critical services.
About You You will have:
- Strong knowledge of licensing legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in licensing administration, enforcement, or a related regulatory service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A commitment to public protection, health, and safety.
- Ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team
