Job Title: Civil Enforcement Officer

Rate: £21.60 per hour (umbrella) Start: ASAP |
Hours: Typically 5 days out of 7 (incl. weekends/early & late shifts)
The Role Join a busy East London parking & streets team as a
Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO). You’ll patrol designated beats to keep traffic moving and streets safe, issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) where necessary and providing a visible, customer-focused presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol on foot/vehicle to enforce parking and traffic restrictions in line with the Traffic Management Act 2004.
- Identify and issue PCNs using handheld devices; capture clear photo evidence/body-worn video as required.
- Check permits, suspensions, and signage; report defects, abandoned vehicles, and hazards.
- Provide polite advice to the public and signpost to council services.
- Prepare accurate notes/statements to support the processing of challenges/appeals.
- Work safely outdoors in all weather; follow lone-working and PPE procedures.
About You
- Previous Civil Enforcement Officer / Parking Enforcement experience in a UK local authority or contractor (preferred).
- Confident using handheld devices and mapping apps; strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
- Excellent customer service and conflict de-escalation skills.
- Fit for sustained on-street patrols; comfortable working shifts/weekends.
- Full UK driving licence or moped/bicycle competence advantageous.
