Job Title: SEN Caseworker
Location: North West London
Rate: £280 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Ongoing
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm (office attendance required on Wednesdays)
About the Role We are seeking an experienced
SEN Caseworker to join a Local Authority in North West London. This role will manage a caseload of children and young people (0–25) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring statutory compliance and delivering high-quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and reviews.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the full Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review process for a defined caseload of children and young people.
- Draft and amend EHC Plans, ensuring they reflect parental views, professional advice, and statutory guidance.
- Work closely with professionals in education, health, and social care to ensure provision is appropriate and timely.
- Provide advice and guidance to parents, children, and schools on the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
- Present cases at weekly multi-professional panel meetings and contribute to decision-making on provision and placements.
- Attend annual reviews and challenge or support schools regarding statutory responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records and case data on the Education Management System.
Requirements- Detailed knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children and Families Act 2014.
- Proven experience managing caseloads within SEN casework or a similar environment.
- Ability to assess, interpret, and implement recommendations from a range of professional reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce statutory correspondence and reports.
- Experience working collaboratively with professionals across education, health, and social care.
- Confident, organised, and capable of facilitating multi-agency meetings.
- IT literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, case management systems).
- Minimum GCSE English and Maths (A–C) or equivalent.
