Maintenance Worker Specialist – Electrical Bias (Band 5)
Location: East and North Hertfordshire
We seeking a skilled
Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment and support the safe, efficient operation of our hospitals.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across Trust sites.
- Diagnose and repair faults on healthcare building services (e.g., electrical distribution, fire alarms, nurse call systems, motors, and ventilation plant).
- Participate in the on-call rota for emergency response (e.g., fire alarms, lift trappings).
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and Trust policies, including risk assessments.
- Order parts and materials, oversee contractors, and complete minor improvement works to HTM/HBN and IEE standards.
- Provide technical advice, support, and training to colleagues.
Person Specification
Essential:- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Full UK driving licence (with ability to travel between sites).
- Strong experience in electrical maintenance and repair, with high accuracy and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.

Desirable:- Knowledge of HTM 06.02.
- Health & Safety certification (e.g., risk assessment training).
- Experience in demanding environments with multiple priorities.
