Building Control Surveyor
Location: South West England
Pay Rate: £56.97 per hour Umbrella
Contract: 5-Month Contract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Working Pattern: Remote following initial system training

Key Responsibilities
- Assess Building Regulations applications and ensure compliance with current legislation.
- Carry out plan assessments and provide technical advice on Building Control matters.
- Undertake site inspections where required to monitor compliance with Building Regulations.
- Advise developers, contractors, architects and members of the public on Building Control requirements.
- Ensure projects comply with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain detailed records.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
- Support enforcement activities where necessary and contribute to maintaining public safety.
- Previous experience working as a Building Control Surveyor within a Local Authority or Approved Inspector environment.
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act and associated legislation.
- Experience assessing plans and carrying out site inspections.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- The ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (such as CABE, RICS or CIOB) is desirable.
