Job Description

TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION OFFICER – WEST LONDON
£29 per hour umbrella | Hybrid | 3 days in the office

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Officer to join a local authority in West London on a 3 months ongoing contract

Role Details:

£29 per hour umbrella

Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office
Full-time position

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of temporary accommodation households.

Arrange and manage emergency and temporary accommodation placements.
Ensure accommodation is suitable and meets relevant housing standards.
Liaise with landlords, accommodation providers and internal housing teams.
Deal with complex housing cases and vulnerable households.
Monitor placements, transfers, voids and cancellations.
Handle resident enquiries and resolve accommodation-related issues.
Maintain accurate case records and ensure housing systems are kept up to date.
Support the council in meeting its statutory homelessness duties.
Monitor rent accounts, Housing Benefit issues and accommodation costs where required.
Work closely with Housing Options, Finance, Housing Benefit and other relevant teams.

About You:

Previous experience working within Temporary Accommodation or Homelessness services.

Good understanding of homelessness legislation and statutory housing duties.
Experience managing temporary accommodation placements and working with providers.
Strong case management and organisational skills.
Confident dealing with vulnerable residents and challenging situations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Local authority housing experience is highly desirable.
