What does a Drama Worker do?

Dance teachers instruct students in a recreational context in the various dance genres and forms, such as ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, hip-hop, Latin, folk dance etc. They assist students in experimenting with and mastering different dance and dramatic expression styles and techniques and encourage them to develop their own style. They cast, choreograph and produce performances. They may coordinate the technical production, the set, props and costume usage on stage.

Tasks required include:

  • Designs and implements methods of assessing the performance of students, co-ordinates and undertakes the evaluation of assessments and awards grades of merit based upon performance.
  • Teaches in private music and dancing schools, training centres and similar establishments.
  • Provides private academic, vocational and other instruction to individuals or groups.
What are the entry requirements for a Drama Worker?

Entry is possible with a variety of academic qualifications, professional qualifications and/or relevant experience. A DBS check may be required.
