Building engineers interpret building designs and add technical specifications to construction projects and maintenance of facilities. They integrate engineering principles into the designs to ensure that structures are safe and resistant. They work together with architects and engineers to transform design ideas into executable plans.

Tasks required include:

The status of ‘chartered engineer’ is achieved through the completion of postgraduate training and full membership of a chartered engineering institution.
