Tasks required include:

• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation devices such as sensors, meters, and analysers..
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in control instrumentation systems..
• Install, configure, and commission control systems and automation equipment..
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure proper integration with existing systems..
• Develop and modify Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs to meet system requirements..
• Debug and optimize PLC code for efficient system operation..
• Configure Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for monitoring and controlling industrial processes..
• Ensure user-friendly interfaces and troubleshoot HMI-related issues..
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in automated processes and control systems..
• Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime..
• Assess and recommend upgrades to instrumentation and control systems..
• Collaborate with procurement to source necessary equipment..

What are the entry requirements for a ICA Technician?

There are no formal academic entry requirements. Training is provided Off and on-the-job. NVQs/ SVQs in Operating Process Plant are available at Level 2.
