Job Description
We have an excellent permanent opportunity for a Senior Furniture Designer to join our client, a London-based interior architecture studio renowned for creating thoughtfully designed, immersive spaces for luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, and private residences worldwide.
We are seeking an accomplished designer with approximately 7–10 years of experience in luxury hospitality, high-end residential interiors, furniture, or product design. Experience in industrial or product design would be advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate a balance of creativity and technical expertise, supported by a strong understanding of furniture design, materials, craftsmanship, and manufacturing processes. They will be capable of developing original concepts, building compelling design narratives, and overseeing every stage of a product’s development from initial idea through to final production.
The role will primarily focus on supporting on the prestigious hospitality and residential projects while also contributing to the ongoing development of the studio’s in-house furniture and product collections. The ideal candidate will bring a distinctive design perspective, underpinned by a broad appreciation of both contemporary and historical design.
Key responsibilities include interpreting and developing detailed design briefs, producing comprehensive furniture, lighting, and product concepts for luxury hospitality and residential environments. The role requires strong conceptual thinking and visualisation skills, with the ability to translate ideas into fully developed designs through sketching, 3D modelling, rendering, and technical detailing. A solid understanding of manufacturing methods and artisanal production techniques for high-end furniture is essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to create detailed technical drawing packages, review prototypes and production samples, and ensure that all designs maintain the highest standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic integrity. They will also manage furniture production packages, coordinating with wider project timelines and collaborating closely with manufacturers, artisans, and suppliers throughout the prototyping and production process. Occasional travel may be required.
We are looking for an individual who is proactive, self-motivated, and highly organised, with the confidence to contribute original ideas and a strong design viewpoint. The ability to adapt to changing project requirements, manage priorities effectively, communicate clearly, and collaborate as part of a team is essential.
Applicants should be proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, KeyShot, SketchUp, or comparable software, and comfortable working seamlessly across both 2D and 3D platforms. While familiarity with these specific programmes is desirable, alternative software experience will also be considered.
If this opportunity sounds like it has a good synergy with your experience, then we would love to hear from you with your CV and portfolio of work.
Two days WFH after successful completion of probationary period.
