SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Can you bring patience, warmth and consistency to pupils in an EYFS SEN Hub? Do you want to gain early years SEN experience before progressing into teaching, psychology or specialist education?

The Role:

As an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within the EYFS SEN Hub, helping them engage with learning, routines and play-based activities. You will work with small groups of children who need additional support with communication, social interaction, early development and confidence. You will also help create a calm, structured and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe and ready to learn.

The Candidate:

This role will suit a caring, patient and resilient graduate who wants to build meaningful experience in early years SEN. You should be confident supporting young children, following guidance from teaching staff and adapting your approach to meet different needs. This is a strong opportunity for someone considering primary teaching, SEN, educational psychology or clinical psychology.

Requirements
- 2:2 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Studies or a related subject.
- A genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEN in an EYFS setting.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, nurturing approach.
- The ability to support routines, play-based learning and positive interaction.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

This ‘Good’ primary school in Stechford has a dedicated EYFS SEN Hub supporting pupils with additional needs at an early stage in their education. Staff provide structure, care and targeted support to help children develop confidence, communication and independence.
