What does a Medical Researcher do?
Biomedical scientists perform all laboratory methods required as part of medical examination, treatment and research activities. They perform clinical-chemical and radiological tests among others. Biomedical scientists may apply these methods in the infection, blood or cellular sciences.
Tasks required include:
- Studies the chemical form, structure, composition and function of living organisms.

- Researches, develops and quality checks new products in the pharmaceuticals, food production and agricultural Industries.
What are the entry requirements for a Medical Researcher?
Entrants usually possess a degree. Entry may also be possible with an appropriate BTEC/SQA award, an HNC/NHD, or other academic qualifications. Further specialist training is provided on the job. Some employers may expect entrants to hold a postgraduate qualification or gain professional qualifications.
