Tasks required include:

  • Retrieve products from designated locations within the warehouse based on customer orders..
  • Use handheld scanners or pick lists to identify and verify items for each order..

  • Ensure equipment is well-maintained and report any issues promptly..

  • Report any damaged or missing items to supervisors..
  • Assemble products into shipping containers, ensuring proper packaging and protection..
  • Affix shipping labels and documentation to each package..
  • Update inventory records by confirming the quantity and condition of picked items..
  • Communicate discrepancies or stock shortages to the inventory control team..
  • Coordinate with other warehouse staff, including supervisors and packers, to ensure smooth order fulfilment processes..
  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve daily picking targets..
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during order picking activities..

What are the entry requirements for a Order Picker?

There are no formal academic entry requirements. Training is typically provided Off or on-the-job. NVQs/ in Warehousing and Storage are available at Levels 1, 2 and 3.
