• Perform precise and controlled manoeuvres to position railcars for loading, unloading, or assembly..
• Couple and uncouple railcars as needed for sorting, assembly, or other operational requirements..
• Ensure proper alignment and secure connections between railcars..
• Maintain communication with control centres, signal operators, and other personnel using established radio or signalling systems..
• Coordinate movements with other shunting drivers and yard personnel..
• Adhere to safety regulations and procedures for shunting operations..
• Conduct safety checks on equipment and report any issues promptly..
• Inspect tracks and switches for defects, obstructions, or other safety hazards..
• Report any track issues to maintenance personnel for timely resolution..
• Maintain accurate records of shunting activities, including the movement of railcars, coupling details, and operational incidents..
