What does a Website Designer do?
Web designers plan, create and code web pages, using both technical and non-technical skills to produce websites that fit the customers' requirements. Being involved in the technical and graphical aspects of pages, web designers determine not only the look of the website but how it works as well.
Tasks required include:
- Liaises with internal/external client in order to define the requirements for the website or applications.
- Presents design options to the client.
- Designs web pages and applications including graphics, animation and functionality to maximise visual effectiveness and facilitate appropriate access.
- Designs web interfaces for relational database systems.
What are the entry requirements for a Website Designer?
Entrants usually possess a degree or equivalent qualification, although entry with other academic qualifications and/or significant relevant experience is possible. There is a variety of relevant vocational, professional and postgraduate qualifications available.
