Finding a new job should be a positive and exciting experience – but sadly, it’s becoming increasingly common for scammers to target jobseekers with fake opportunities. Across the recruitment industry, there has been a sharp rise in fraudulent job adverts, messages and individuals pretending to represent legitimate recruitment agencies.
These scams often look convincing. You might receive a message through WhatsApp, social media or email offering an attractive job, promising high pay, or asking for personal details to “secure your place.” In some cases, scammers even use real company names and logos to appear genuine. But once they have your information – or once you’ve sent a “registration fee” or “training cost” – they disappear.
At Pertemps, we want all jobseekers to know one important thing: we will never ask you to pay us to find you work.
Our services to candidates are completely free. You should never be asked to provide payment details, transfer money or buy equipment in order to be considered for a role through Pertemps. However, we are aware that our name and logo are being used by scammers.
If you’re ever unsure about a communication that claims to be from us, please don’t respond or share any information. Instead, contact your local Pertemps branch directly. We will be more than happy to check whether a message or advert is genuine.
We also recommend:
- Checking email addresses carefully – genuine Pertemps emails will always come from our official domain.
- Being cautious on social media and messaging apps – scammers often use personal platforms to reach people.
- Never sending personal documents until you’ve confirmed you’re dealing with a legitimate consultant.
Your safety and trust are our top priority. We’re proud to connect thousands of people with real, rewarding work every day – and we’ll continue to work hard to ensure that your job search with Pertemps is safe, secure and scam-free.
