Location: Chester, Cheshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,775 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts, Monday to Thursday:
The Role we are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Process Operator to join their Extrusions department in Chester.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business where full training, PPE, and comprehensive health and safety guidance will be provided.
The successful candidate will support the operation of vertical and horizontal extrusion presses, ensuring products are manufactured to specification while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate vertical and horizontal extrusion presses safely and efficiently.
- Load and move raw materials in line with safe working procedures.
- Pack, stack, and label finished products accurately.
- Meet daily production targets.
- Carry out routine quality checks and report any faults, defects, or production concerns.
- Ensure operating conditions are correct before commencing production.
- Complete production records accurately as required.
- Remove production waste and maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, PPE, hygiene, and operational procedures.
- Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment (preferred but not essential).
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Excellent reliability, punctuality, and attendance.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- The ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
- The ability to work in a warm manufacturing environment while wearing the required PPE.
