Welder (Dayshift)Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Welder to join a well-established sheet metal fabrication company based in Tunstall. 

 

The RoleThe successful candidate will be required to work on significant volumes of jig work for sustained periods while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy. You will be responsible for producing fabricated components in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• MIG weld mild steel up to 12mm thickness.
  
  
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  
  
• Measure components and work to specified tolerances.
  
  
• Operate hand tools and air tools safely and effectively.
  
  
• Complete production paperwork accurately and maintain tidy records.
  
  
• Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping, and safety.
  
  
• Carry out any other duties required by the Production Team.
  
  

Required Skills & ExperienceEssential

• Minimum 5 years' MIG welding experience.
  
  
• Fully experienced in MIG welding mild steel up to 12mm.
  
  
• Ability to work from engineering drawings.
  
  
• Competent in accurate measuring and working to tolerances.
  
  
• Skilled in the use of hand and air tools.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  
  
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work efficiently within a manufacturing environment.
  
  

Desirable

• TIG welding experience, particularly stainless steel.
  
  
• Experience fabricating bespoke or small-batch items from scratch.
  
  
• Strong fabrication skills with the ability to work independently.
  
  

Weld TestAll successful applicants will be required to complete a practical weld test prior to employment. This may be carried out on the interview date or at a pre-arranged time.

Salary & Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.00 - £15.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
