Job Description

Maintenance Engineer required in Bourton-on-the-Water. Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 (dependent on experience), Hours: Full-time, on-site, Contract: Permanent Opportunity.

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business in Bourton-on-the-Water. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking for a varied position covering planned maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding, repairs, and continuous improvement. Working closely with the wider production and engineering teams, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment and machinery while helping to minimise downtime and improve overall equipment performance. 

Key Duties:
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
    • Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and production stoppages.
    • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
    • Carrying out effective repairs and ensuring equipment is returned to a safe and operational condition.
    • Investigating recurring equipment failures and identifying appropriate corrective actions.
    • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work.
    • Supporting engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
    • Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintainability.
    • Supporting and leading continuous improvement projects where required.
    • Producing simple fixtures, jigs, brackets, guards, and tooling where required.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 3 years' previous experience within a Maintenance Engineer role or similar.
    • Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to machinery breakdowns.
    • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
    • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical documentation.
    • Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office packages.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production and engineering teams.
    • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
    • Basic fabrication and workshop skills would be advantageous.
    • Experience using CAD packages such as SolidWorks would be beneficial but is not essential.
    • A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
Working Hours:
  • Full-time, on-site position.
    • Hours to be confirmed.

Pay & Benefits:

  • £34,000 - £36,000 basic salary depending on experience.
