Semi-Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper – South London

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established chartered accountants practice in South London to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing firm.

This role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio, hands-on accounting work, and the chance to build on your technical and client-facing skills.


Your key responsibilities as Semi-Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper will include:

• Preparation of management accounts and year-end accounts
• Bookkeeping duties including bank reconciliations, purchase/sales ledger, and VAT returns
• Assisting with self-assessment tax returns and basic tax compliance
• Supporting senior accountants with client portfolios
• Liaising directly with clients, providing day-to-day financial support
• Use of cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

 
To be considered for this Semi-Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper position:

• Experience in a UK accountancy practice environment
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
• AAT qualified or ACCA / ACA part-qualified (or studying)
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
