The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with autism within a specialist Autism Base setting.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities.
- Promote pupils' social, emotional, and communication development.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Encourage independence and celebrate individual achievements.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (school-based experience desirable).
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Is adaptable, resilient, and able to respond to individual pupil needs.
- Holds relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEND support (desirable but not essential).
- A supportive and experienced SEN team.
