Location: East London
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 4 Days Remote | 1 Day in the Office
Contract: 12-Month Contract
Hours: 36 Hours per Week
£22.44 per hour umbrella 

About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Housing Officer to join a busy Housing team in East London.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver a resident-focused housing management service across a portfolio of temporary accommodation. You'll work closely with residents, managing agents, contractors, and partner agencies to ensure accommodation is safe, well managed, and that vulnerable households receive the support they need.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high-quality housing management service across temporary accommodation.
    • Act as the first point of contact for residents, resolving enquiries and providing advice and support.
    • Carry out regular property inspections to assess condition, health and safety, and compliance standards.
    • Identify and investigate tenancy or licence fraud, making referrals where appropriate.
    • Manage tenancy and licence issues, including anti-social behaviour, abandonment, breaches, and enforcement action.
    • Support residents with tenancy sustainment, signposting to specialist support services where required.
    • Work closely with repairs teams, contractors, managing agents, and internal departments to resolve property issues.
    • Prepare casework for legal proceedings and attend court where necessary.
    • Maintain accurate case records using housing management systems.
    • Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with statutory procedures.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience working within housing management, temporary accommodation, or homelessness services.
    • Good knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and temporary accommodation duties.
    • Experience carrying out property inspections and managing housing-related casework.
    • Knowledge of anti-social behaviour, tenancy management, safeguarding, and housing enforcement.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
    • Experience working with vulnerable residents and partner agencies.
    • Good IT skills and experience using housing management systems.
