Housing Solutions Officer – Housing Register Team
Location: West London
Contract: 3-Month Ongoing Contract
Rate: £27.40 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 Days in the Office

About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer to join a busy Housing Register Team within a Local Authority in West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to manage Housing Register applications, provide high-quality housing advice, and ensure statutory duties are met in accordance with housing legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Housing Register applications under Part VI of the Housing Act.
    • Make statutory decisions in line with the Council's Housing Allocation Scheme.
    • Provide accurate housing advice to applicants by telephone, email and face-to-face.
    • Manage Housing Register casework, ensuring applications are processed efficiently and accurately.
    • Respond to customer enquiries and shared inbox correspondence.
    • Support statutory reviews and assist with complex housing cases.
    • Prepare case files and supporting documentation for reviews and legal matters.
    • Liaise with internal departments, solicitors and external agencies where required.
    • Maintain accurate records using housing management systems.
    • Deliver excellent customer service while managing a busy and varied caseload.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a Housing Solutions or Housing Register Team.
    • Previous Local Authority experience is essential.
    • Strong knowledge of Part VI of the Housing Act and Housing Register processes.
    • Experience assessing Housing Register applications and making statutory decisions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Experience using housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
